Thanks to farmers protests we have made some very important conclusions both for them and the consumers. The Bulgarian consumer must be informed of the quality of the cheese and yoghurt. Bulgarian National Standard, though voluntary, should give the right to the farmers using it to label their production heading it with `cheese` and `milk`. All the rest should name their produces in every other possible way. No compromise should be made in this respect. Responsible for people’s health are not o­nly the producers, but the control committees, too. So are the branch organizations – they are expected to support the producers and the quality of the produces. The Prosecutor’s office should bring a case o­n their own and prohibit the usage of false labels. The NVMO is to blame, too. Their doctors in the factories are acquainted with the fakes, but do nothing to prevent them. They could publish in Internet a list of the disloyal farmers. Whose interests are behind this? Sofia Chamber has informed the Prime Minister that in every town the NVMO should have a contemporary apparatuses to quickly diagnose the foodstuffs. Such apparatuses should use the farmers, too. The answer was a mere clerk’s letter.

So long the society is paying through the nose – we get poisoned or eat palm oil instead of butter etc.
