Sofia Chamber supports o­n a regular basis the need of a constantly functioning anti – crisis staff, not just organizing meeting after meeting to do the bare minimum. We witness the titanic efforts of the great world leaders Barak Obama and Sarcozi who appear in public every week to seek a support of their proposed measures against the crisis. However, it`s just the other way round here. A case in point is the absence of an Executive Director of SAPARD which has resulted in a payment delay for the beneficiaries. In a crisis situation this could be fatal for the farmers. Banks have raised their interests to a deadly high level, as well as our Government takes no care of the banks themselves. Sofia Chamber has taken action to support a concrete SAPARD project and will insist o­n its financing from the health minister. SAPARD`S payments are concrete measures against the crisis. Secondly, we`ll insist before the President Georgi Purvanov to convene an anti – crisis meeting as soon as possible.
